Quote:
Sacha Baron Cohen to shed Borat persona for good
Friday December 21 5:54 PM ET

British actor-comedian Sacha Baron Cohen says the time has come to shed forever his persona as Borat, the boorish, oversexed, TV journalist from Kazakhstan who became a surprise box office sensation last year.

In a rare interview as himself, Cohen told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper he found it painful to abandon his Borat character, and another of his oddball alter egos, Ali G, but felt both had become too familiar to the public.

Cohen created both personae as devices for improvised social satire, in which people he interacted with in interviews or casual encounters became his unsuspecting comic foils.

yeah, read that story earlier.

I love borat too, and ali G....but, hey I wouldn't want to be typecast with those 2.

Cohen appears to be very intelligent, I looking forward to what he does next.

Looking forward to seeing Sweeny Todd, obviously to see Burtons latest work, and Depp, Bonham-Carter, Rickman....but also Cohen.

I have to admit that I never knew Kazakhstan existed.

When I first heard the name from Borat, I thought it was a joke country.

I remember the time when Kazakhstan's capital was Alma Ata.

I used to call it alma mater...

That's part of the reason he chose that country. A lot of people don't know it, and ironically, it's the 9th largest country in the world.

I heard about him dumping Borat a while ago. He might be working on a movie for the Bruno character.
