It's slow at work and my co-worker, with whom I usually get along very well, is driving me nuts today. She's been here longer than I have (7 years to my 3) and has helped me learn and grow in the job.

Today, however, she's been jumping up every time I finish a job and checking it to make sure I've done it correctly. Then she finds something to "fix" even if there's nothing wrong! If I put a job on the left side of the table, she moves it to the right. If I use a green highlighter, she suggests it would have been better in blue.

Everything I do is wrong somehow. Except it's not wrong, it's just not HER way...

Thank you for listening. She will go home in an hour and, with any luck at all, come back in a different mood tomorrow.

Is she superior to you in the firm?

Sounds control freaky, but that was of course just a glimpse. Maybe she has color issues. I, for example, don't pick up yellows well, in highlighting or sometimes in other graphics, though I can sure pick them up in van Goghs. And green has some yellow in it... maybe blue is easier for her.

Or, it's some procedural thing of which you haven't been told the clue..

I think you need to covertly go over to her office area and mark everything in green and pink highlighters. Then, rip out all the pages for December in her Daytimer. Throw them in someone else's garbage can. If she has files, mix up all the papers between them.

Then, forward her phone to her boss' line.

You'll feel a LOT better once you do that.

Oh, and as a last gasp, you can write about her in the bathroom stalls.

I think Noddy's got it. I was afraid I was being oversensitive, but another person just asked me if she (the subject of the rant) was feeling okay. That person has noticed a picky, grouchy attitude over the last week or so. I'll just let it roll off my back and see if she's not back to normal in a few days -- after that, I'll be on vacation and off the hook until after New Year's!

Again, thanks for being here. I haven't been posting a lot lately but youse guys help a lot with my shaky sanity...
