Today I was digging around in my water softener and found a light bulb. The bulb is clearly marked " 50 watt." The part that has me confused is that I am not sure if I should use granulated or pelletized salt. can anyone here please help me?
Yes, I can help you. I seem to have become an expert tonight in water softening problems.
First thing is to dig a trench around the problem area.
Secondly, you add some concrete, set your lightbulb in that, and then ask Gary Slusser to convene with Justalurker for the right amount of juice to give it.
Got that?
Okay... let me know when you've got that done and I'll give you steps 3 and 4. The salt pellets don't come into it until the 8th step, so be patient.
Finally!!!! A water softener thread that I can finally follow. Thanks.
could you check the spelling of "watt" again - could make a huge difference!

A human climbing a flight of stairs is doing work at the rate of about 200 watts.

I don't need AMEX, there are plenty amex right here in my neighborhood. Some are even legal.

(I'm on Smiley probation)
well now, I can't tell if the light stays on when I close the cover so I need to turn it off but there's no switch. Should I use a revolver or a semi-auto?

Turn off the breaker in your circuit box. If the light stays on with the cover open you've got trouble.
The breaker should be the same one you turned off from the bathroom light fixture fiasco or possibly another one. Its hard to tell from here.
Now, give your plumber and your electrician a call. Get some beer and it will be fixed in no time.
Chumly will be here momentarilly to glaze our eyes over .....
If you turn the power off and the light stays on - consider yourself lucky!
Thousands of poor people in ( ................insert suitably poverty-stricken country here....) would be grateful!
dys just can't get used to this solar energy he's got. Poor fellow!
It's okay, it's okay, I'm back to save the day...
You obviously didn't connect your transformer to the receiver as it said to do on the inset on the panel. Okay, big breath, and follow my instructions.
To connect your transformer, you have to be wearing fleece slippers because these are non-conductive. Got that? If not, go to your nearest Walmart because they currently (no pun) have them on sale.
When home, put them on, done your gas mask and go back to the area in question. Find the receiver (should be a black box with lots of steel nodes sticking out of it, and maybe a couple of wires).
Are you still with me?
Please advise before I waste more breath. Check in early in the a.m. for more instructions. Please note, it is CRUCIAL you are wearing BOTH your fleece slippers AND your gas mask simultaneously! Otherwise, work hazards could result and I would not be responsible.
Wide open, Dys. Only pussies close 'em....
In general I believe the flack should clack.
An unclacking flack is a sign of thingd to come.
