I don't like the bugs and / or the snakes there.

Which preposition is correct? I think it should be 'or'.

Either. In English, there are often multiple "right" ways to say the same thing.

I don't like the bugs and [I don't like] the snakes there.

I don't like the bugs or the snakes there.

I like neither the bugs nor the snakes there.

All are OK.
