@edgarblythe,
Hey, do you have one of those fancy saws where you can cut out intricate patterns, etc?

I've always fancied a go at that, but the price of them is prohibitive.

What are they called again?

Scroll saw???

@Reyn,
An ex friend - no need to get into that - gave me a scroll saw. I have never used it. I am not certain I want to do all those intricate little thngies they make.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, so I was right, they are scroll saws. Wasn't sure.

I've seen some neat stuff made by one of those. I guess it's kinda difficult and a lot of work.

Do you think there's money to be made making items like that?

@Reyn,
It is time consuming work. Unless one is exceptional, I can't imagine making money at it. That's opinion based on observation, not on experience. Plus, I don't really admire that sort of stuff.

@edgarblythe,
I may visit the Old Town Spring craft shops this week. Also a few in Tomball. Get some ideas. Ask dealers what's selling and does it pay?

@edgarblythe,
Sounds like a good plan.

Say, Edgar, when you start making some stuff (if you decide to), can you take some pics and share them on this thread? I'm curious as to what you come up with. Wink

@Reyn,
I will take pics of the good stuff, maybe not the failures.

@edgarblythe,
Laughing That may be, but the idea was well represented. Let's pretend it was sawdust. Wink

@Reyn,
I do wish I had a workshop like that. Mine will be much smaller and not really well furnished.

@edgarblythe,
So, I take it that your workshop will not be of the Norm Abram's stature then? Wink Laughing

If I had Norm's money, I wouldn't need a shop.

@edgarblythe,
But then you could do it just for the fun of it!

That Norm, what a whizz kid, huh?

@Reyn,
If I had 50,000 dollars worth of tools and unlimited material and plans, I could do better work, too.

Did I mention that I'm up for winning a lottery next February? Wink

@Reyn,
Oh, well. I play the Texas lottery every week. Several times, I have won back three dollars. That's over a period of more than eleven years.

@edgarblythe,
Laughing You missed my drift. If I win this lottery, who knows where parts of it may go? Wink
