drop foot-achilles tendon lengthening procedure

Hi
I have a question concerning drop foot, i got it when i had a stroke .
my doctor wants to do surgey with an achilles tendon/split anterior tibalis
procedure.
i would like to know if anyone has had this done any if it was worth it to have done. what issues did you encounter? thanks
