I always keep something that I can eat in my pocket when I am on a long journey.

I always keep something in my pocket that I can eat when I am on a long journey.

Which sentence is correct? I think it's #2.

Many thanks.

I prefer the first. The second needs a comma after "something" and "pocket", or else you'll be eating your pocket on that long journey.

This is correct! You have something in your pocket that you can eat - perfect!
