Seems like he has touched a button of yours.
Not so much touching a 'button' as representing a political ideology deeply offensive to to the principles of democracy and citizen-empowerment. He's a classic authoritarian...and he's the very worst of what America offers up in leadership and the very worst of what America presents to the world. He is not readily distinguishable from Mussolini.
In your opinion which, on the grand scale, doesn't count for much. Almost as much as my own opinion that you would be wrong.
There is a threat out there. Some find it easier to ignore it and hope it goes away, kind of like the boogie-man. Others see the threat and decide to take action against it before it materializes into something larger.
Nothing Rumsfeld has said is offensive to the principles of democracy and citizen-empowerment beyond your not liking his politics.
