Is the first sentence without 'so' correct? I think it's wrong. I believe the other sentences are correct.

The first is correct in American English. The rest are wrong.

The Subjunctive is used after the following expressions:

It is imperative (that)

It is urgent (that)
It is vital (that)
It is a good idea (that)

Examples:

Sorry, Contrex, but I disagree. All these sentences are grammatically correct, but their meanings differ, depending on the context.
