Correct form of address

I'm grateful I got to know you.

Is this sentence correct when I address a new colleague for the first time? I think it would be better phrased as: I'm glad to know you as a colleague.

Is my sentence good enough. If not, how shall I address him/her/

Thanks.

I'm happy to meet you.

That's the usual response.

Also:
Very nice to meet you. (informal)
Happy to meet you. (informal)
Pleased to make your acquaintance. (more formal)
I'm very pleased to make your acquaintance. (formal)

If you have heard about a person but haven't yet been introduced, when you are introduced you can say:

I am so happy to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you.

Joe(There's more. We have all sorts of ways of saying 'hello')Nation
