Ascus and acupuncture?


If ascus means "bag", how then is the word, acupuncture derived?

Which "bag" is being punctured in the procedure known as acupuncture? Rolling Eyes

Ummm.. Acupuncture isn't based on the Latin"ascus". It's based on the latin "acus" (one less "s" in there) and the English "puncture'.

"acus" = "Husk" or "shell"

In Acupuncture everything is treated from the outer surface, the human "shell", as opposed to invasive things such as surgery or internal medications.
