what is the difference between a finite verb and an infinite verb?
and whats wrong with the sentence

You hardly know anything other than to work?????

finite forms are forms that have tense; that give you a notion of time:
I walked..

infinite or (they call it non-finite ) are forms that does not have tense:
bare stems, which follow modals, e.g., I can walk.
infinitive forms: I like to walk
participials: present participle: -ing, as in I am walking or past participle: I have walked/I have eaten.
