We had one of these spiders hanging in our car port. We just walked around him. They are very big. I find it hard to believe it ate a snake but there you go. Speaking of snakes I found one of those little tree snakes in our yard. Luckily it had the sense to go up before the dogs noticed. I'm guessing I live pretty close to the guy who took the snaps.
Strange stuff to see and learn about. Nature has so many surprises; things we don't expect.

CAIRNS has been confirmed as the host city for a G20 finance ministers meeting in 2014.
Acting Prime Minister Wayne Swan this morning confirmed the move to award Cairns with the meeting as part of the G20 talks saying it would bring a "significant boost" to the north Queensland economy.
"This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase Queensland and particularly Far North Queensland to the world," Mr Swan told Network Ten's Meet The Press program. ...
Visibly drizzling here, for the first time in quite a while.

Working from home, my suburb got power back way before work. So I increased my carbon footprint for no reason.

Well this is weird, a local councillor has announced the completion of a cyclone shelter at Edmonton, on the southern outskirts of Cairns. Apparently it's part of a $60million project to build these shelters around Queensland, and, get this, it's co-funded by Abu Dhabi! We get foreign aid from an Arab Emirate. Weirdcool.
Landfall is expected to be "just north of Cairns", which is a bit closer than they were saying yesterday. This is the 2AM (EDT) advisory. The next one is due out in about 40 mins.
