ORAL SEX: consequences of swallowing?

I'm dealing with a problem right now and need to sort of like spit it out and would really like and appreciate to receive opinions about this if possible and IF anyone gets to read this.

One night Aug. 10th I gave oral sex to a guy and I swallowed. On the 13th, I started feeling nauseous with a headache and super tired and a bit of a fever. Throughout 3 weeks I felt nauseous, with fatigue, had fever, headaches non-stop, my throat was a little weird, my tongue felt weird as well (its texture kind of changed) and was kind of whiteish like when one has a virus. I didn't have sex with him. I only gave him oral sex and thats it.

Out of all things I could've gotten that night the only one I can think of being a virus is HSV. If I got herpes that night, are these really the symptoms I would get when contracting the virus and my body is trying to fight it back? Cause I read when you get herpes for the 1st time one experiences fatigue, fever, etc. He could have HSV2 and not know it and then passed HSV2 to my mouth because he could be one of those guys who are totally asymptomatic and not even know he has it or he just didnt tell me.

Well I did some research and I read there are a lot people who have herpes for a decade, even 15 years and never knew they had it that whole time. I also read there are those that have herpes and then get outbreaks years later when they experience some type of emotional or physical stress. Thinking about it right now as Im typing, to me he seems like the type of guy that never goes through any type of major stress, and also seems to be always happy. One thing I don't like though is that it would mean that when he does go through some major stress then he might experience the symptoms and that'll be bad news for him. Sad Unless he's totally asymptomatic.

I dont know if the guy knows he has herpes but I was afraid to bring it up because of my uncertainty and also because I dont like blaming it on him (he wouldnt like that) even though it is like 99.9% sure that he passed it to me or else I wouldnt have had the symptoms of the herpes virus when it first enters the body and it cannot be a coincidence that it was two days after that happening! I did some research and the symptoms when you first get it after exposure, take 2 to around 20 days to show up but I have yet to experience any cold sores, etc. Could I be asymptomatic?

Went to the doctor a week ago and he agreed with me this could have been it but diagnosed me with an infection. I didn't get tested there cause they dont do that. Today I went to planned parenthood where they do that specific kind of stuff cause I was afraid that I got something else and she said I was free of STDs and that I should change my doctor because what he diagnosed was totally false because there's no way I had an infection and she explained it all.

But anyhow, I still strongly believe he gave me HSV considering all the events and symptoms when someone first contracts the virus. Though I have yet to experience the actual symptoms of someone who has had herpes for a while.

So to close this I guess with my theory, unfortunately it only means one thing, there's the big possibility that I might have gotten infected that night ='(

I forgot to add that I haven't been eating much, had fever, felt dizzy, fatigue, headaches, muscles hurt, nauseous, and had chills. Could it be something else??

These same symptoms apply to about 10,000 possible illnesses - some of them purely mental.

Go to another doctor.
And didn't your mother ever teach you not to put strange things in your mouth? You don't know where they've been!

Visit a doctor and get tested. It's entirely possible that the STD you got from this guy was influenza.

well I looked it up since you suggested that's it but it cannot be the horse flu? I doubt it cause according to this website...
http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuID=27&ContentID=38418

it says:

Lifestyle

No known risk of people catching horse flu: Abbott
26th August 2007, 9:00 WST

There is no known risk of the equine influenza detected in NSW passing from horses to people, federal Health Minister Tony Abbott says.

The outbreak among recreational horses in Sydney's Centennial Park has caused a national shutdown of the horse racing and breeding industry.

and blah blah blah etc

so Im glad that's not it!!! And also I just want to thank everyone for helping =) many thanks

Here's a little something so you can understand HSV a little more. I would have wished for someone to have given me this information so now I'm glad to share it with others. Glad to help.

Transmission

The herpes simplex virus usually enters your body through a break in the skin around or inside your mouth. It is spread through coughing, sneezing, direct contact with a cold sore, sharing toothbrushes, forks, drinks, shaking hands with someone who has the virus whose hands are infected (beware of swingers!) or touching contaminated fluid-such as from kissing an infected person and touching the person's saliva. The virus can also be spread from one person to an area of someone else's body by touching an active cold sore or sharing things that a person who has a cold sore has used. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child.

Many people have HSV1 (oral herpes) since they were a young child and not even know it until years later when undergoing major stress. Also beware of transmitting the virus to other parts of your body. If you touch a cold sore and then touch i.e. your genitals, then you will contract HSV2 (genital herpes). This mostly occurs when the person does not know he/she is infected and then touches their genitals i.e. masturbation.

When the person is viral shedding (when the virus is on the surface of the skin but has yet to develop into a cold sore) he/she is more likely to infect themselves in another area of their body. After touching their mouth they have to make sure to wash their hands with soap and warm water to prevent the spreading to their eyes, genitals, hands, etc.

In a case of a woman who has herpes but didn't know she had it for more than 12 years, her husband thought she had cheated. After all those years she experienced her first outbreak and now her husband wants a divorce. She doesn't know how to explain this and will lose her husband very unfairly. It is not her fault the virus remained dormant for so long and now appears not only sabbotaging her marriage but her husband's trust. If he's thinking of divorcing her because she got herpes, there's no point because there's a big percentage that he could already be infected and not know it. No point in losing his wife of more than 10 years! If the person has herpes and their partner has herpes as well, they might want to stay with each other considering the fact that it'll be hard to find someone who will not mind. That's if going through many rejections will be a problem for you as it is for many.

Whether he has herpes or not, next time use a flavored condom anyway!

Also he could have gotten it from an infected razor as stated in some cases Confused If he either shaves his beard, mustache or his genital area.
