A widow is a woman who's spouse died while they were married.
A divorcee is a woman who's marriage was legally disolved.

A widow is a female whose spouse has died and she has not re-married. A divorcee is a female who has legally disolved her marraige with her spouse.
This applies in the United States of America. I don't know about other countries.
