What is considered to be an entity with a soul?

while i completely discard the supernatural concept of souls as entities; if one wishes to leave the word in the dictionary, i would suggest the meaning would suitably be the 'essence' of the personality of an individual.

thus it would remain very, very 'special'.

I think a soul has a lot to do with one's personality. I know there are genetic factors and other stuff involved in forming one's personality--but there is this enigmatic thing that affects a sense of humor, faith, compassion... that must be connected to one's soul.

My avatar is Drew Barrymore.
She, for some confounding reason, married a second rate celebrity of snot and pants-ing humor, who has a recessive chin, and no discernable qualities of value.

He divorced her after a few months.... Question

It is a Hollywood mystery.

I haven't met Sofia, but I can only assume she is cuter than Drew. Wink Once again, Bo is convincing, as always, in terms of the definition of a soul....not a supernatural being/entity, but the essence of one's individuality. I think that is really what a 'soul' is as well.

The Tom/Drew thing isn't too much of a mystery. The marriage was, but he left her because she started dating chicks. Not that I blame her Laughing

Soul as the essence of one's personality? What's essence? Why not just soul = personality. I do like the non-supernatural approach here.

I should clarify...she started dating chicks, and wasn't bringing them home.

Re: my bisexual avatar--I'm confused. I thought this was every man's dream. Instead of packing up, I'd think he'd be plotting a get together.

Soul=personality---- I don't it's that simple. So many things affect personality. Pessimism v optimism--cheerful v glum are probably ruled by biological/ environmental factors. I think essence/soul is much more narrowly defined.

Sofia;
boys dream thus Shocked;
adolescents plot so Evil or Very Mad;
men plan togetherness. Cool

and my secular soul would include all that you are.

There's some decent secular "theology" going on here.

Yes, or Would that it be secular humanology. We need to understand ourselves more than anything else. Who said "Man is the measure of all things" (to man, of course)?

Speaking of the secular....Sofia, as I stated earlier, it seems Drew wasn't bringing her friends home, so I figure that a 'get-together' was out of the question for Tom. That might explain the packing.
