ok, so the title really says it all. i'm currently using the Pimsleur ( don't know if i spelled that right?) method, but i would really like to learn more grammar/sentence structure so i can go beyond the typical small-talk.
I'm pretty good at pronouciation when i hear it, but i'm struggling with knowing how to pronounce things when i read them.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I have heard Rosetta Stone is great. Don't know since I haven't tried it but apparently it is well liked by many here in Atlanta. Heard it is pricey though.
for me, I went straight to the international center at my university to learn many years ago. I also made friends from Japan who helped me. There's nothing better but to learn from the professional --native speakers. If money isnt a factor, going to the country will help a lot. I learned a lot when I went to Tokyo.
I would go to a college and sign up for a beginner's japanese class. They teach you the basics. Speaking, reading, writing/grammar, pronounciation, etc. You will learn a bit about their culture as well. It'll be great.
