I've never understood the psychology of tattoos.

I'm curious....whats the point of having it in Latin ?....is it so that not only do you attract attention to yourself but you also have a potential pickup technique starting with "What does that mean ?"...or is it just a tribal thing with the ritual Latin adding to the ceremonial atmosphere ?
