Naw... Just your paw.
(Poor Edgar. That was such a "What about those Yankees?")
Clearly, Snow made a hell of a lot more money when he worked for private industry. With years of such extra-ordinary means he and his family became accustomed to and on the financial hook for an extra-ordinary life style.
Who would not?
I suppose there are six or seven people in this country who, if handed millions of dollars, would give it all away, but I doubt any of them post in this forum.
$168,000 a year is not chump change but to someone who may own two houses and is sending his kids to ivy league schools, it aint enough.
This is a fundamental difference of opinion between the Right and the Left.
The Right is happy for anyone to become wealthy thanks to his or her hard work and sharp mind. The Left is only happy if they personally become wealthy.
It's pretty safe to assume that Tony Snow knows he has but a few more years on this planet. It is perfectly understandable, and frankly admirable, that he would want to spend his remaining years building a solid financial base for his family. If that base includes two homes and Ivy League tuition, who cares?
Let's not forget that Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Think about it...even if you only make $50,000 a year playing in bars and teaching in public schools, there are millions and millions of people on Earth who consider you as fabulously wealthy as Tony Snow.
Let me know when you sell your house and cars and send the proceeds to Africa.
okay finn... had to get that dig in about playing in bars... thats fine you are what you are and can't help yourself.... but I certainly did not make any remarks about Tony snow and money....so don't project it on me.
I also make considerably more than 50K a year if its any of your business, and I dont lie to people to get it.
I also believe that charity begins at home so if I were to give away a lot of money it would be to the needy in my own country.
Maybe I'll start by sending you the money to underpin your house.
