He ran out of his car.
He ran from his car.
I believe that the first sentence is fine, but not the second. Am I right?

Most cars are not big enough to "run out of". You can run out of a train or an airplane, but not a car.
"He ran from his car" is correct.

Yes, "getting out of a car" is plausible.
