Small "seeds" on top of feet that doc calls amelia

Doc says the specks he calls amelia (sounds like what he says) is Latin for seeds. They are small specks of firm, white material. What are they? He is treating them with topical cortisone.

Amelia is the medical name for being born with a missing limb or limbs, so I guess the doctor said something else.
