ORLANDO -- Lisa Nowak is in a Florida courtroom, asking a judge to let her be free of her ankle monitor.
The ex-astronaut was met by a swarm of photographers Friday morning as she entered the courthouse. Her lawyer said she will read a statement outside the courthouse afterward.
The 44-year-old Navy pilot has pleaded not guilty to charges of battery, burglary and attempted kidnapping for a run-in with a rival in love triangle. Nowak allegedly attacked Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman with pepper spray in an airport parking lot and tried to jump into her car.
Her lawyer is asking the judge to throw out comments in a police interview along with evidence found in her car, including a steel mallet, knife and BB gun.
So, what, just ignore everything she did and said? Ignore the mallet, knife and BB gun? Ignore the interstate diaper trip?
