I am having lunch.

'I' is the subject. Is 'am' or 'am having lunch' the verb? Is lunch object or complement of the sentence?

Many thanks.

"I" is the subject.

"Am having" is the verb.

"Lunch" is the object.

Thanks, Roberta.

What is the difference between complement and object?

Not entirely sure I can answer that one. I had to look up "complement" in this context. The best I can make out is that an object is a part of speech. A complement completes a thought--the part of speech isn't an issue.
