Pls. help me on this
If something was already happenned which one should I use?
He said to her, " I won, I won."
or
He said to her, " I win, I win."
Why?
I once was told that a verb in the quotation should be present tense.
So I would like to get the explanation.
Thanks,
No, you can use present and past tense
She said: "I bought the eggs yesterday!"

Why not, "I'd bought the eggs yesterday".

Thank you very much.
(I'm teaching English on the other side of the world and need help.)
If your horse just came in first at the race track, you might shout, "I won, I won". If you just drew the winning card in a gin rummy game, you might shout at your opponent (impolitely), "I win, I win".
Flyboy--
Very clear--and colorful.
The proper use of Id.
How about Id been truthful all along only to have it squashed by lies and deceit
