He left/quit his job to form a company.

Which verb should I use? Are there any errors in the sentence?

Quit in this sense is an Americanism. Avoid using it if you expect British people to be reading what you write. It's not that we won't understand it, but it gives an odd impression for a translation from the Chinese to sound American.
