Which one of the following choices sounds right to you? [This is a translation of the Chinese slogan for 29th Olympiad.]
A) I Participate, I Give My Service and I Feel Happy
B) I participate, I contribute, and I enjoy
C) I participate, I offer, and I'm happy
D) I participate, I'm devoted and I will be happy!
I prefer,
I participate because the police will arrest my mother if I do not obey, unless I pay a bribe.
None of the samples inspire me but "B" comes closest.
None, sorry, but they sound like brainwashing.
Fansy--
One of the great cultural differences between East and West is that most westerners dislike being exhorted to do something or to feel something.
A more western approach would be, "I plan to enjoy the Olympics and contribute to the enjoyment of others," but even this is a bit goody-goody for the western mindset.
Participation: Contribution: Fulfillment
How about this:
I come, I participate, and I win
Although they all look a bit of weird to me, I'd prefer B

That's a nice suggestion, but doesn't match the meanings in Chinese.
