Yes apply the chilli past to a cucumber and use it as an applicator.

Sitting in a tub of warm water.

Eating lots of fiber.

Drinking lots of water.

Avoiding spices and alcohol.

Maintaining a normal weight.

Why does everyone always recommended warm water? Hemorroids are swollen/enflamed veins - ice cubes work much better! Also, fiber -- especially Metamucil.

how do these things go back in?
i have some rectinol cream which i am applying 3 times a day
and have been taking nurofen for the pain but they dont seem to be going anywhere
it seems to have shrunk a little but this could be the nurofen masking the pain
does it just take time or will i have to see the dr

thanks

I recently read that is not a good idea -- it puts more pressure in that area, thereby enlarging the veins more.

Also massage area with very moist baby wipes with aloe and Vitamin E.

8 days so far and i think the end is near
i would recommend rectinal straight away you can get this from your chemist
nurofen for the pain
moist towellettes for toilet times
and plenty of rest i spent a fair bit of time laying on my side
remember to stay rested after youve taken the pain killer
(so you dont forget you have them)
i sat on a ring ..good for a short while if you have to sit up
i tried ice ... man that kills
chilli .. no freakin way i was even gonna try that
cucumber was a bit of relief
i read somewhere that you can push them back in ... that kills too
warm bathes might be good if you didnt have to sit
remember to brace youself if you cough laugh sneeze yell etc...

summary
rectinol
nurofen
rest
demazin or something similer if you have a cold or something
no grog

One thing that really helps is using witch hazel for cleansing the area after doing "the necessary"

I actually kept a very small bottle and filled it with witch hazel, one that could fit in a purse, or even a pocket if I had to use it while away from home.

It is actually something you may want to continue using after they have gone away.

What's also good are those new "hot wash, blow-dry" toilets that run on automatic.

You can buy it at the drug store, it's in the same place as the rubbing alcohol.

After you "finish" soak the toilet tissue in the witch hazel to wipe.

It's an astringent, and helps the veins to contract.

Plus, if you have hemorrhoids, your bowel movements are painful, and it very much sooths the pain.

3rd, because it's a liquid, that it itself obviously cleans much better.

You may find the smell a little strange at first, but you'll get used to it.

In fact, if you are in a lot of pain afterwards, you can even soak a small washcloth or napkin with the witch hazel, lie down in bed an put in on the area. That helps.

I don't think they just derive from diet, though maybe, but they can be exacerbated by dietary choices that cause constipation - or so I think. You might check the latest research on all that.

thanks chai thats very helpful i will be getting some of that

osso yes i have been doing a bit of research on it and am now trying to change my habits a bit

ie making sure i have at least 20 g of fibre a day (i copied and pasted a food list on to the background of my PC so i see it every day)
drinking less (ive had 3 beers all week and they where yesterday watching the footy)
and doing butt excercises (not sure if this helps but i got to give it a go just in case)
