I like the color, red.

Is a comma after color needed?

Many thanks.

No need for a comma there Yoong.

If you were speaking to someone with the nickname "red" it would be appropriate.

Red: I like the colour
You: I too like the colour, Red.

I am assuming you are Chinese Yoong Liat.

Do Chinese people give each other nicknames (pet names)?

Sometimes a person with red hair will be given the nickname Red. In Australia many people with red hair are nicknamed Bluey. Someone tall might be called shorty. Isn't that silly.

Yes, I'm Chinese. I have lived in Singapore since I was born.

Yes, Singaporeans give one another nicknames. For example, if a person is fat, he will be nicknamed 'fatty', and if he or she is short 'shorty'. But nicknames based on names are seldom heard.

A comma is not needed.
A comma is not needed after the word color .To put one there - and before the word red - would definitely be wrong![/color]
