JPB, I have no idea what single elimination is. Last year we picked all the way through in one swell foop. As long as a player's Super Bowl pick was alive, that player was still in the game.
I went around to Yahoo and CBS's Fantasy Game thingees to see if there was something like the NCAA basketball's thing where we would get x-points for correct picks in the 1st round, y-points in the 2nd, and z-points in the 3rd to mitigate against the Patriot Factor. I couldn't find anything, so I have no idea what value should be assigned to x, y and z.
Maybe someone else has a plan.

We could award highest guessing percentage..and award them accordingly with:

Exalted Ruler > 90%
Salted Ruler 80-89%
Malted Ruler 70-79%
Halted Ruler 60-69%

This week's selection criterion is songs relating to the various teams' head coaches.
Jacksonville (11-5) at New England (16-0) New England - Bill Belichik - "Wedding Bell Blues (Marry Me, Bill)" by The Fifth Dimension outshlocks Jacksonville - Jack Del Rio - "The Macarena" by Los Del Rio
San Diego (11-5) at Indianapolis (13-3) Indianapolis - Tony Dungy - "Tony" by Patty Griffin belts it out better than San Diego - Norv Turner - "Rocket 88" by Ike Turner
NY Giants (10-6) at Dallas (13-3) This was the toughest for me to decide, but I gotta go with my preferred group. NY Giants - Tom Coughlin - "Tommy, Can you hear me?" by The Who can see, feel, touch and heal better than Dallas - Wade Phillips - "Sit Down" by Wade
Seattle (10-6) at Green Bay (13-3) Green Bay - Mike McCarthy - "All I Need is a Miracle" by Mike and the Mechanics outpops Seattle - Mike Holmgren - "Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield
Tie-breaker: 31 (please let me know if that's taken, thanks)

Thank you.

"Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield. I had totally forgotten about that great song, or was it an album, partially because I, um, not me of course, was in a bit of haze back then.

37

44

The pants go with 30!

(would the last-place finisher be the defaulted ruler?)

I would strive for malted ruler, preferably single-malted.

And that all depends on who's doing the evaluation.

Our internet access at home is temporarity down, so I'm submitting both our picks from the courthouse. Looking at the picks, I'm not sure which game is supposed to be the tie-breaker, so I'm going with the last one scheduled, Giants-Cowoys. Here goes---

CowDoc

New England
Indianapolis
Green Bay
Dallas (42)

Miz Cowdoc

New England
San Diego
Green Bay
Dallas (52)

I'm too uncertain to predict an upset, but if I did it'd be Giants over Dallas if the Manning that shows up to the playoff game is the same one that gave Pats fits in last game of reg season.

Ragman, I'm using Seattle at GB for the tiebreaker game -- do you still want 44?

As long as New England wins the Super Bowl, George probably doesn't care. Smile
