When the results had been announced, he did not win, but he was not disappointed.

Is the sentence correct?

Many thanks.

I'd add something to this:

When the results had been announced, he did not win, but he was not disappointed.

When the results had been announced, he found out that (or he learned that) he did not win, but he was not disappointed.
