Jason called his parents at work to tell them his exam results. He was very pleased with his results.

How should the above sentences be joined?

Jason called his parents at work to tell them about his exam results, as he was very pleased with his grades.

I changed the second "result" in the sentence to "grades", as it didn't look right the way you presented it. "Grades" means much the same thing as results, as far as exams are concerned.
