You are very welcome c.i., and welcome any time. Umm...some people have requested food pics, once you have it all organized Wink Mrs. cav and I enjoyed your company immensely, especially the stories of the safari. Wow. I hope we can do that someday....

Sounds like a great trip, c.i. Thanks for the commentary. Very Happy
I love train trips and I'm looking forward to making my way the rest of the way across North American by train someday. Wow, you were in Armstrong! You've seen something of real Canajun spirit if you've been up there. Not glamorous, but very very real.

C.i.
Just curious was your trip at all comprimised by the fires raging through the canadian rockies?
I was wondering if you saw them at all?
Thanks,
Ceili

Hi Ceili, As a matter of fact, no. We thought the area around Kamloops would be full of smoke, and cause some delay, but it was clear. However, when we were between Banff and Kamloops, somebody pointed out a layer of smoke that was claimed to be the fire. The only thing strange about riding trains in Canada is that freight trains have priority over passenger trains. We sat on side tracks quite often during the trip, but that was all part of the experience and enjoyment - relaxation at its best. Wink

c.i., the freight trains take priority because they foot the bills for the tracks. the passenger trains are definitely second-class citizens.

(i can't figure out how to make that pic bigger here - it is in littlek's abuzzers around the world folder at her site - where it can be clicked on and made bigger)

I really screwed up! I took some pictures of cav (Chef Paul) and his wife, and the great food we shared at the first A2K Toronto Gathering, but my camera had black and white film. At any rate, for those of you interested, I've posted the food pictures at littlek's photoshare web site at http://groups.msn.com/littlekb/transcanadatraintour.msnw?Page=2 c.i.
