I am afraid if I do too much abdominal excercise my liver will be compressed. Is this a reasonable fear?
I would say not. I like to keep my abs in shape. When I was young and very athletic I could do 105 complete situps involving hanging from a 90 dgree angle and touching my toes. A strong man could punch me in the stomach and he would hurt his hand before I would feel anything. My abs are still pretty tough and my liver is just fine. Do your ab work and don't worry.
You're such a stud, Nick.
I doubt it. So many people have done so many sit-ups and leg lifts for so many years that if it were a danger, it would have happened to someone by now.

i'm trying to picture this.... you're hanging from a bar.... lifting your legs above your head touching your toes to your fingers?

very impressive
Don't ever picture Nick in such a position, dag. It may cause serious damage to your retinas.
But isn't he just a dreamboat?
I do 200 sit ups every day no kidding. when I get a twinge in my liver I just apply some alcohol.
i do 50 crunches on this machine they have at my sports club, with a 70 pound weight on it. then i do the leg lifts on this other machine off of which you hang. another 50. that never hurt my liver. i find other ways to abuse it though. they're usually more fun, too.
