Well of course the French lost in Vietnam, that was pretty funny. But then the Vietnamese have a habit of inflicting humiliating defeats on invaders.

One thing I do find annoying about the French, stirring up trouble in our colonies, although I bet they regret it now. But that was a long time ago. The world would be a much poorer place without the civilising effect of French culture, language, philosophy art etc. What a pity they didn't join with us in keeping the American colonies in their place.

Oz missed out on being a French colony by one day!

At least we would have had better food!
