"Do not report this to the police," the robbers warned their victims.

1. The robbers warned the victim not to report that to the police.

2. The robbers warned the victim not to report the robberyto the police.

In reporting what the robbers said, which sentence is correct? Or is neither correct? If so, could you please tell me how to put it in reported speech.

Many thanks.

Both sentences are correct, although the first sentence is rather awkward, and the explicit character of the second sentence makes the meaning immediately clear.
