No. Christ offered himself up willingly.

Interesting...

Not his own will but God's will he obeyed...

So that is still willingly but with a slight twist.

It was Jesus' willingness to disobey his own will (or legal nature) that saved him.

So your implying Jesus was not a God or God. Am I correct?
Not God. God's firstborn. (first creation, see Proverbs 8:22) Satan challenged the integrity of all God's intelligent creatures; Jesus, as the foremost of creation, took a human form to answer that challenge.

Yeah, god breaks all his own laws; thou shalt not kill (the biggy), love thy neighbor as thyself, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not commit adultery, so on and so forth...
The Hebrew word used here is more accurately translated murder.

So 4,000 years ago Christ offered himself up?

No, roughly 2000 years ago Christ paid for our sins...

So before Christ and Romans no one paid for our sins. That's roughly 200,000 years. Now, all of a sudden, someone has to pay for our sins?

And why does someone have to pay for our sins. Who pays for God's sins, and God does sin mightely.
Well, if you were to believe the bible account, a perfect person was needed to substitute for Adam.

The devil had a greater motive for causing the flood.

The guy who used to walk around naked until one day he realized he was naked... I guess now we all wear clothes because of this. Smile

Don't waffle on this.

I'm wondering if you thought the flood was Satan's idea.

If I'm wrong. say so.

The christian god told Noah to build a boat big enough to accommodate two of every living thing. God even told Noah how long the rain was going to last.

As for "thou shalt not murder," god did it big time; he killed all those innocent people without any crime charged against them. That's murder in the first degree. It wasn't even "self-defense." It was outright rage without any chance for forgiveness. That's about as heartless as any god can get. Just think of all those innocent babies and pregnant mothers looking forward to a simple life.

The was the Mesopotamians talking about the Amorites.

The MAR.TU who know no grain.... The MART.TU who know no house nor town, the boors of the mountains.... The MAR.TU who digs up truffles... who does not bend his knees (to cultivate the land), who eats raw meat, who has no house during his lifetime, who is not buried after death...[1]

They have prepared wheat and gĂș-nunuz (grain) as a confection, but an Amorite will eat it without even recognizing what it contains![2]

According to the bible, they were not innocent. And if they were, God has promised all another chance. (John 5:28,29)

People believe what they want to believe. They find what they selfishly seek and mirror their own judgment.

The Bible only says God caused the flood so the true God can see who is gullible enough to believe it.

The atheist is far too self absorbed to ever know the true God's intension.

I see no clear "Biblical" directive to take slaves other than to civilize them and eventually grant them their freedom.

in Leviticus 25:44-46 Moses quoting God wrote:
45 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you.

46 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property.

47 You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly.

Seems quite clear to me. Forever does not mean eventual freedom.

in Numbers 31:17-18 Moses quoting God wrote:
"17 Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.

"18 But all the young girls who have not known man by lying with him keep alive for yourselves.

So you think that "civilizing" is what was in store for those children?

So that brings up the question of why does there have to be a perfect person. Can't God accept the fact that we are imperfect and live with it? After all God's not perfect so why should he expect it from us?

So if the first man was a comedian and man was created in God's image, then someone is playing games.

If God wrote the Bible than he's the one playing games.

Look at all those people out there who think they know what he's saying.
