Could I use the structure this way:

-The parents force education on John so he would grow up as they want him to be.

My opinion:
1. The above is not a hypothetical situation, so 'will' should replace 'would'.
2. 'be' should be omitted because 'be' does not fit in with 'grow up'.
Do you agree?
