Does "rousing or quickening activity or the senses" refer to "rousing or quickening activity or the senses of activity"?

That is why the definition is not "rousing or quickening activity or senses" (without "the" and the meaning will be confined to the previously mentioned activity).

Context:

stimulating ['stimjuleitiŋ]
adj.
1.
rousing or quickening activity or the senses

@oristarA,

Bearing in mind this is supposed to be a definition of stimulation, I suggest this could be "rousing or quickening activity ON the senses".

My dictionary sucks. Oxford's good:

Definition of stimulating in English:
adjective

Encouraging or arousing interest or enthusiasm:
a rich and stimulating working environment
