While I was searching for the explanations of CB blue book, I happened to get in to this forum. Seems like a pretty neat site.
I am an international Chinese student in NY, currently a junior.

First general question, how do you guys increase the vocabulary, especially in a relatively short period of time?(SAT in May)

Get a Longman Language Activator. You can increase your vocabulary by leaps and bounds in a very short time.
