This is huge news! If these gene therapy treatments remain successful through human trials we could see a curtailing of a lot of suffering due to developmental problems. Fragile X has links to mental impairment as well as hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder, emotional and behavioral problems, anxiety and mood swings.

Too many of these "trials" result in premature deaths for participants.
