@neologist,
Noahs sons were the sons of God in Gen.

Gen 5:29-6:6
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."
30 After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters.
31 So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.
32 And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

CHAPTER 6

1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3 And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

@Squeakybro,
Sometimes you have to do that to see a new page on an old thread.
It's a hamster issue.

@Aberro,
We seem to know instinctively that ultimate truth is somehow related to the existence of God. In fact, it is interesting that those who deny the existence of God are the same ones who say there is no absolute truth and that everything is relative. But something deep within us says this is not so -- something tells us that God exists and that He holds the key to truth.

However, that raises another question. If there is a God, a creator, as evidenced by creation, how do we know who He is? How do we know what He's like? Has He revealed Himself and His truth to the human race?

The answer is yes! He has revealed Himself to all mankind and He has authenticated His communication to us in such a way that it is clear that it is His word and no one else's.

@neologist,
How to get the knowledge of God, of our nature, of the Spiritual
World and Planets

We don't need any material qualifications in
order to attain the Supreme. All we have to do is
hear from authoritative sources and repeat accurately
what we hear.

Formerly, the Vedas (all branches of knowledge) were heard by the student from the spiritual master, and thus the Vedas became
known as sruti, meaning "that which is heard."
There are similar known proofs of hearing from God
or His representatives (eg Moses, Jesus)

When the Lord saw that Moses was coming closer, he called to him from the middle of the bush and said, “Moses! Moses!”
He answered, “Yes, here I am.”

One of the women in the crowd raised her voice to Jesus and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed." But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."

We can hear from the Supreme Authority in any place,
even in the battlefield (like Arjuna heard from Supreme God Krsna). The knowledge is received, not manufactured. Some people think, "Why should I listen to Him? I can think for myself. I can manufacture
something new."

This is not the Vedic process of descending knowledge. By ascending
knowledge, one tries to elevate himself by his own
effort, but by descending knowledge one receives
the knowledge from a superior source.

Submissive hearing is so powerful that simply by hearing
from authoritative sources we can become completely
perfect. In becoming submissive, we become aware
of our own imperfections. As long as we are conditioned,
we are subject to four kinds of imperfections:
we are sure to commit mistakes, to become illusioned,
to have imperfect senses and to cheat.

@rosborne979,
''What is the truth'' , as I feel it for all of us ''To be Honest'' with everything we do in life and with ''To be Honest'' with every word we speak with others as we are only kidding ourselves when we lie or when our actions we take are of to be not honest . The truth is being as honest with everything we do and with whom we do it or doing something that is dishonest with someone ( somebody ) that is hurtful or harmful to an other . The 10 Commandments come within these 10 letters that make up this 1 commandment , all 10 commandments covered with the 10 letters 1 sentence 1 commandment and only 10 pieces of slate Moses came down the Mountain with , 10 pieces each with a letter on , you try and prove this wrong with posting me one commandment that if you was only ''To be Honest '' then no sin or crime would be committed , yet people would still have wealth , fame and fortune . '''What is truth'' John ''To be Honest'' Moses .............!

@Aberro,
Faith is to believe in ourselves , and to question everything we doo not understand even down to the smallest of problems , Faith is to question everything God asks of us as To be Honest '' is gods way of testing us with asking god what is meant with some decisions we need to make . is it right to follow with out knowing or to follow when we know why we need to follow , or is it only the fool will ask what is meant with what the fool is asked to do . Who is the fool now the one who follows without knowing why but follows because everyone else follows or the fool who asks the question because the fool would like to know and has nothing to loose when questioning God why . God would prefer to answer and explain ''To be Honest'' and with the ''Truth'' so that the fool may know , as knowing those whom are really the fools who think that to follow with out knowing is the truth ''Faith in knowing the truth ,To be honest ''with GOD
