A 'young' mother of four grown children and Granny to two wonderful Grandsons.
I love to cook. I used to dream of becoming a home economics teacher but have been told that they are a dying breed as a result the glut of fast food being consumed these days. I have therefore resolved to become an elementary teacher instead and will content myself with preparing wonderful meals for my husband and children.
While trying to recover I pass the time by volunteering at the local library as a storytime reader, I have become a leader in the Guides Australia program, I help out at Queensland playgroup as a Toy Librarian and last but not least I volunteer my services at the Mater hospital in the capacity of a patient buddy.
When my back gets better I hope to resume my studies in order to complete my teaching degree.
I am also anxious to get back to hiking and backpacking! I love being in the mountains! How I miss the BC mountains! Ah well, it is something to look forward to, n'est pas?
I love to read and am currently reading "Lord of the Rings; Fellowship of the Ring" and am almost done. Contemplating whether I will continue with 'The Two Towers" or take a break from LOTR and instead read "Anne of Green Gables"? Then again, I have never read the whole Harry Potter series so I may pick up "The Prisoner of Azkaban".
And I suppose, in a nutshell, that is who I am.
