I can't believe I'm not seeing a single Ron Paul thread?

Do any of you guys actually know who Ron Paul is?

Here are some of his credentials:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

He is running for President in 2009.
He can win because no one has that passionate a grassroots movement behind them and no one is helping their candidates like Ron Paul's supporters are.

I urge you to seriously consider him. Don't underestimate him as many others do.

"The original American patriots were those individuals brave enough to resist with force the oppressive power of King George. I accept the definition of patriotism as that effort to resist oppressive state power. The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility, and out of self interest -- for himself, his family, and the future of his country -- to resist government abuse of power. He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the state. "

It's not that I don't like Ron Paul. But, he has been in Texas politics forever, and has never really set the world on fire. I don't know if he merely lacks the charisma, or just hasn't made friends high up enough to be taken seriously. Whatever, I tend to dismiss him because nobody seems to join with him.

I prefer Tancredo.... but either one of them fulfills their role just fine.

A Paul/Tancredo third party ticket would make the election interesting.

That is completely inaccurate. He owns the internet. He has a giant and powerful grassroot campaign that saves him millions in advertising because it does it for him at no cost.

We are growing by leaps and bounds and there is no dirt to throw around, and may be that's why media hasn't made him a household name...

Right. Our current prez only set a couple of countries on fire. But given enough time, I'm sure he'll get around to the rest of the world!
