The IQ result, by the way, is similar to proper IQ testing I have been subjected to.

You have also stuffed the results of any subsequent test you take by taking that one - it does contain legit questions, albeit not many of them, and you should not re-test within 12 months.

Ahh it's silly. Any test that is soo easy to get all the answers is bogus. I've hardly ever finish these tests (I get bored) but I have never seen one that I was sure I'd gotten 100% on.

Most any of these tests will stump me at lest for a while.

Lol! I SAID the results matched those of proper tests I have had inflicted upon me!

As I said, it canot be real because of the non-test conditions etc - I haven't bothered to look at a WISC or WAIS (I KNOW the spelling is wrong, there!) but I know, just from memory, that it is waaay too short - it fails to ask any social intelligence questions - the real verbal scale questions, for instance, go waaaaay beyond these - no memory tests, like digit recall - and so on and on.

I wonder if there has been any correlation study done between scores on this and scores on "real" tests?

It gave a similar profile, though, as I recall, for me - re verbal skills eg - as real tests have done.

They ought not to be charging money for it, though, I don't think.

Sure the questions are similar but that says nothing. It has a low ceiling and that in itself shows that it sucks.

But what about the questions that are truly horrendous? Like number 16?

Aww...poor Cravey Wavey wants a test he can get over 200 on...won't find them on the net. I posted this on your other e-mode rant, but I would check out your local Mensa branch and take their tests, if you want a real assessment of your genius. Also, the reason e-mode's IQ test does not score higher than 144 is because time is not considered. Anything higher would be an even falser result than what is already offered Razz I would also seek out a good E.Q. test (not e-mode's) and take a typing class Laughing

Bah, it's not worth the effort. Plus I think the EQ tests are even more ludicrous than the IQ tests.

Anywho, I've lost interest in these tests already.

i seem to remember that time IS considered... i took the test, and i was pretty sure it was e-mode, while it didn't have a timer, it asked you to time yourself (upto 13 min) and enter the time at the end. but then, i got 149... so maybe it was a different test. that was also several months ago.

I have taken two IQ tests, both many years ago. I did well on the one in elementary school, but don't know the number. I didn't finish the one in high school, my friend wanted to get out of there...subsequently my class rating went down relative to my grades.. Huumph. Non e' importante.

Just want to clarify a couple of things for my sanity.
Are you sure you have listed the correct answers?

Question #3. Simpler to think 12*12, 11*11, 10*10, etc..

Question #4. Even the lonliest rose has thorns? (Just sounds
more ironic).

Question #16. I think Inept is the opposite of fit.
(inept = insufficent skill, fit = sufficient skill). skillful doesnt quite fit.

Question #33. I want to pick the isosceles triangle. All others
have some symmetries of rotation about the little pivot they've
drawn.

Question #40. Im thinking big/small too. But the pattern seems
weak.

Just my two cents, on this little time waster.

I am sure I have listed the answers emode considers correct. I disagreed with them on the choice of some questions.

For e.g. number 4 is a ridiculous question, you suggest an answer that is ironic and frankly why not? There is no such thing as a correct answer for that.

But there is an answer that makes more sense. Because of the use of the word "even" they are looking for a contrast.

I agree with you about number 16. That is simply a mistake on emode's part. They include an answer that is a much better answer than what they expect.

16 is their worst question.

I forgot to post the shapes for 33 and I don't remember them. But your line of thinking would be sound if true.

40 was the one I liked the most. The pattern is, indeed weak but it was the only one that made me think. The weakness of the pattern is it's strength.

Anywho, welome to Able2Know! Better timewasters here.
