If Obama Barack does not succeed in getting into the white house part of the blame can be put with black comedians Richard Pryor and David Chappelle, who have reinforced negative and false stererotypes associated with black people.

In particular their sketches about a 'Black presidents' David Chapelle and people like him are the kind of 'house slaves' Malcolm X spoke about, blacks who are prepared to sell the dignity of their own people to become rich.

It also speaks volumes about White establishment people who are not prepared to give blacks any role other than ones they define.

Would David have succeded in comedy that didnt demean his own people.

b) Satire is funny. All comedians make fun of white presidents and we still vote in white presidents.

Racism is a form of oppression and is associated with abuse of power. as such it is not really possible to be racist towards a ethnic group in power and establishment.

Jokes about 'white' Presidents are not based on their ethnicity, or the lack of competance being a result of their ethnic background.

The sketches about black presidents are always about them being incompetant BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK.

I think you need to give voters more credit for being able to distinguishthe difference. You also need to give black candidates more credit to deal with the satire that will surely come to them just from being in public service.

I have two dogs to play with. We never bother the Jews, though. We also don't start hilarious Chicken Little threads in which we allege that black men cannot get elected because of the "Uncle Tom" attitudes of a single black comedian.

I'm not sure how Pryor's piece here shows him being incompetent as president because he is black. I think it is some pretty biting commentary on the race situation of the 70s but the first part pokes fun at politicians not being clear in their answers and has little to do with race.

If anything Pryor (like Dick Gregory) opened the door for a lot of black comedians.

But I did notice you failed to accuse Bill Cosby of perpetrating black stereotypes. Shouldn't you have brought him up too since you are painting with such a broad brush. Those Fat Albert cartoons certainly must prove that dark colored people can't be President.
