I probebly would have said "go to hell"! What an ass for saying such a thing!

Yeah, not only did he say it in front of my co-workers, which wouldn't be so bad since we're like family, but he said it in front of two surgeons that I have to work with occasionally.

I feel for ya Marty. I wonder if he even realizes how insulting his comment was or is he one of those who actually thinks he's doing you a favor

Then maybe he's just a miserable ass who wants everyone to be as miserable as he is. I know far too many of those!

I moved to a small town 7 years ago and this is one of those towns where the lifers have a hard time accepting people from the outside, so I often get little pick comments and all I can do is look in their eyes and smile, but since I have one of those faces where my expressions speak a thousand words, they know that smile says "boy, what an ass@#$% thing to say". Sometimes I even laugh and it's because I so freaking glad I'm not the miserable ass they are

I had a bad night myself. My son has my blood boiling....long story....

Anyway, the hell with those miserable asses!

On the co-worker, at the time, a simple raising of eyebrows with stare should do until, perhaps, a little step aside talk, if you feel that is warranted.

I personally think he made a fool out of himself in front of a bunch of people. I know if I heard someone say that to someone else, I'd think "what a jerk"!

I probably woulda said something like, "Is that how you found your boyfriend, sir?"

Some people mistakenly pride themselves on their wit and humor.

We're lucky your co-worker isn't an A2K member.

I think I'd have turned around and quietly said something like 'that's a little inappropriate.' And left it at that.

If you haven't already, the next time you see him, you may want to say something like 'I'd appreciate it if you could please refrain from making comments about my personal life in public. Or privately, for that matter.'

Montana is spot on, btw. You should take comfort in the fact that he totally made a big ass out of himself.
