8. What could stop WW3 from happening?
Dialogue.
The prevalent attitude among the current American leadership is one that represents a rigid, "I'm right, you're wrong" mentality that is fed by the philosophies of people like Bernard Lewis and Samuel Huntington in what will ultimately lead to a
Clash of Civilizations.
Alternatively, there is a different mentality that, if followed, will lead to an opportunity of dialogue and understanding. It requires the leadership of the US and it's allies to accept that ideological differences can co-exist among differing peoples. It requires the same of those who feel their existence is threatened by those in power in the west. It requires that progressive Muslims speak out against those who have captured their religion and misrepresent it to the world. It requires that westerners replace their aggression hungry leaders with those who would rather talk first, second, and third, and fight only as a last resort.
It seems a pipe dream, but dream I shall.
