The unknown Neocon

He is Canadian but a thorough Neocon. Yup, Conrad Black on trial for theft or fraud. He coaxed the widow of Macdougall, former Chairman of Argus Corporation that owned Massey-Ferguson, the farm equipment manufacturer, to give control and right off the bat he raided the assets and killed off Argus and Massey-Ferguson. With the funds he bought into Hollinger, originally a mining company, and converted that into a newspaper company. He bought right-wing papers such as the Toronto Sun and started the Chicago Sun Times from a failed Chicago paper. He was as pompous as a Robber Baron and got himself the title of Baron in England even though he was a Canadian. He gave up his Canadian citizenship for the title and started a right-wing national paper called the National Post. Canada being somewhat liberal never did quite accepted it so it is a burden as other profitable papers subsidize its existence. He sold off the National Post,which is still limping and may drag the whole chain down.
