Fingers crossed for good weather for the wedding.
Some drizzle on the wedding day is a good sign- so they say.
We had some drizzle and next month we will be married for 29 year.

I don't mind hot weather in summer as long as I am not working Very Happy Was clever enough to have chosen the right profession. Very Happy

JOE COCKER lyrics - Summer In The City

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city

All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But till that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With daddy and mamma standing by

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

George Gershwin

There you are Stradee. I was wondering if the wild fires are near you. Sent you an email, no answer so I was worried. Glad to see you are ok.

Also good to see that eBeth and the wild clickers are going strong.

Hi ya Maggie!

The fires are/were burning at the Nevada side of Tahoe. More than 200 homes were destroyed, many acres of pristene forest lands, and of course the wildlife wearn't spared either. Very sad.

North Tahoe is ok though for now - god knows though. Will send an email to you in just a few minutes ~ appreciate your concern. Thanks Smile

ehBeth, i love summer, but not 100 degree weather every day. Tahoe is just 40 minutes from my house and whenever i have the opportunity and a day off of work - there i be. As well you know, there isn't anything quite like the coolness of a mountain lake.

Yeah, I saw a news segment about the eagles yesterday. That's great.... I quess if the bald eagle HAD gone extinct - we would have had to accept Franklin's suggestion and adopted the turkey as our national bird.

One more day to go..... Very Happy

Stradee- have a wonderful time at Lake Tahoe.

Good news about the eagles.

We were on a farm today. Fresh hay. What a summer smell. And the herbs, lavender, and the roses- and the raspberries.

Thanks for the article, ehBeth!

Not good news for Tahoe though, the fire reignited and more people were asked to evacuate. Smoke everywhere affecting Truckee and Tahoe City - the summit at 8000 ft. {Corrior - hwy 80}

Three thousand acres - two hundred sixty buildings including 175 homes destroyed - and the fires still not contained.

Emerald Bay - Hwy 50

ul, thanks! Smile

Posponed the trip for a few days until the smoke clears - there isn't a hazard for the fire near the Corridor or for North Tahoe but air quality isn't the best for traveling.

Will stay close to home today, but in a few days, I'm at Tahoe! Very Happy

Sounds like you had a wonderful farm visit! Smile
