I usually click on the link I have stored in "my favorites" folder from way back in Abuzz days. That's certainly Aktbird2. But whichever way I click, I've always been greeted as "Hello, Merry Andrew: as long as I'm on my own 'puter. They;ve probably got cookies on this machine.

Was having difficulty logging on this morning, so I'm clicking in late. But better late etc. etc. etc. ...

That's the key - as long as care2 greets you with your name.

If it greets you as andrew/aktbird - please don't click. Log out and sign-in under your own identity.

What a great day!

Sent a zillion advocacy letters and emails, spruced the landscaping, chatted with friends, cuddled the herd, and there's still a few more hours of daylight! Oh, and fed the birds and deer.

I luv vacation!!! Very Happy

Ok, all changed to the generic URL. I hope my random clicks still count for the AKteam...... Very Happy
When I bring up the site - I always just click without signing in. That counts in square footage. Then I login and click again - the site at that time says hello to me personally. I then logout - bring up the site again from my favorites list - wait 60 seconds and click again without logging in. It gives us more square footage - then I login and click again with a name. I do this over and over for each name I click for. Thus, I'm getting double clicks for each name. Plus after the 60 sec wait I get another free click at the end of my click list.
Oh, well, it all still saves trees regardless.

Dan, I tried the same procedure, and got the "thanks you've already clicked today" page. Confused

Saving trees is what counts though - good job!

Stradee, if you logged out after clicking - the next time you click on the Care2 URL - you should get a free click - BEFORE logging in !!....... Very Happy

Just try it = Bring up the site by clicking on the URL - no matter if it's in your Address/Favorites - or, if you have clicked before and did not sign out/Logout...... Very Happy ---- LOGOUT each time you click.

If you access the site via the URL - JUST CLICK on the RAINFOREST icon without logging in .... You will get a percentage of rainforest that our sponsors will purchase....... Very Happy

I have no idea about the numbers assigned to the AKTeam57 - Wildclickers club. ehBeth will have to tell us about that.

Whatever, each click that sez we have saved more Rain Forest is worth it.... So, every click counts for a tree.

Most of the current posters on this thread are active members of the aktbird57 team (I can see 'you') when I go peek into the memberlist.

If the care2 account recognizes you when you log in - your 'named' clicks definitely add to the team total.

The problem we're having right now is with adding team members - and to a lesser extent, figgering out if the 'unnamed' clicks add to the team total.

The care2 help desk is trying to help.

Wish me luck - and sanity.

What a neat photo, Stradee.......

After each clicking session you must LOGOUT. Then the next time you access the site using the URL provided you can - WITHOUT LOGGING in - just click on the Rain Forest icon and you will get results.

After you click on the Care2 URL and get your square footage - just click on LOGIN to access the site - If you did not LOG OUT after the last click - LOGOUT now. And, before logging in just click on the Rain Forest icon. That will give your your free click. After that - you must LOGIN with only your name line - then be sure to UNCHECK the REMEMBER ME box - and finally click LOGIN. After that, you do the same sequence as above but rest in between clicks for 60 secs. Then start over again.

I usually play the minesweeper game in between because it only takes about a minute to do it - and that's without marking the mines....... Very Happy

After that, you do your normal clicking sequence and UNCHECK the REMEMBER ME box before LOGGING IN.

Then, access the site using the URL provided and repeat all of the things above. Except you have to wait 60 seconds in between clicks to start the next clicking.

We spent another great Saturday morning down at the beach with the dogs. Setanta demonstrated how well Cleo can handle herself in the off-leash area now. She managed attention from a few overly friendly dogs quite well, and moved away from an aggressive dog (showed her teeth/didn't growl/turned her back - it worked). She had a couple of great swims. Bailey loves the off-leash area - gets to mix it up with the big dogs - don't tell HIM he's a small dog.

a famous summer song
meaningful in many ways
(including the anniversary date that's just gone by)

Black Day In July
by Gordon Lightfoot

Black day in July
Motor city madness has touched the countryside
And through the smoke and cinders
You can hear it far and wide
The doors are quickly bolted
And the children locked inside

Black day in July
Black day in July
And the soul of Motor City is bared across the land
As the book of law and order is taken in the hands
Of the sons of the fathers who were carried to this land

Black day in July
Black day in July
In the streets of Motor City is a deadly silent sound
And the body of a dead youth lies stretched upon the ground
Upon the filthy pavement
No reason can be found

Black day in July
Black day in July
Motor City madness has touched the countryside
And the people rise in anger
And the streets begin to fill
And there's gunfire from the rooftops
And the blood begins to spill

Black day in July

In the mansion of the governor
There's nothing that is known for sure
The telephone is ringing
And the pendulum is swinging
And they wonder how it happened
And they really know the reason
And it wasn't just the temperature
And it wasn't just the season

Black day in July
Black day in July
Motor City's burning and the flames are running wild
They reflect upon the waters of the river and the lake
And everyone is listening
And everyone's awake

Black day in July
Black day in July
The printing press is turning
And the news is quickly flashed
And you read your morning paper
And you sip your cup of tea
And you wonder just in passing
Is it him or is it me

Black day in July

In the office of the President
The deed is done the troops are sent
There's really not much choice you see
It looks to us like anarchy
And then the tanks go rolling in
To patch things up as best they can
There is no time to hesitate
The speech is made the dues can wait

Black day in July
Black day in July
The streets of Motor City now are quiet and serene
But the shapes of gutted buildings
Strike terror to the heart
And you say how did it happen
And you say how did it start
Why can't we all be brothers
Why can't we live in peace
But the hands of the have-nots
Keep falling out of reach

Black day in July
Black day in July
Motor city madness has touched the countryside
And through the smoke and cinders
You can hear it far and wide
The doors are quickly bolted
And the children locked inside

chords and lyrics

~~~
Quote:
Black day in July
Motor city madness has touched the countryside
So begins Lightfoot's Black Day In July, a song Lightfoot wrote about the 1967 race riots in Detroit. But after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. a week earlier - on April 4, 1968 - many top-40 radio stations in the U.S. refuse to play the song. They fear the lyrics will ignite violence. Lightfoot tells CBC Radio, he's not surprised by the decision.
A slow Sunday - but, isn't that the way it should be....... Very Happy
All clicked...................
Stradee, the pic of the tree brought back a memory of sitting under the Bodhi tree in Bangkok - a descendent of the very tree that Sidhartha sat under in N India. That was a visit in 1969.
Last day of vacation! Sad
Dan, a day for lollin', ironing work cloths, and oh, {so cool} mamma deer, son and daughter, sat neat the porch for nearly the entire day! More photos - that i'm determined to post one day soon as i purchase a new copy/scan/printer - digital camera - and new computer.
Perhaps retirement isn't on my agenda yet. {sigh}
Jenna should rename the campus tree "multinational" only most of those folks probably can't even spell the word or even understand the definition.
Nice photo Dan, thanks.
